Geography’s foundation dates back to the 19th century, though, geography is a science as old as humanity itself. Geography, as it is today, is a collection of sciences to look into the relation between people and places with a strong root and modern perspectives. Teaching of geography aims to gain the students an understanding to make sense of what is around them and to have them develop an understanding regarding the interaction between humans and their environment. It is the duty of the geographer to observe the numerous interaction possibilities between the places and the people, and to do so is a part of a vast, fascinating field of teaching
Our department, which was founded under the roof of the Faculty of Science and Literature during the 2014/15 academic year asserts to bring out an understanding of a “geography family” by improving the quality of education each and every day with our brilliant students; and under the light shed by this ideology, it wishes to see you as open minded and conscientious “geographers” when you have graduated.
